"CHOPPING MALL is a hoot ... it strikes just the right balance between comedy and horror. Despite all the cheesy fun, it manages more than its fair share of serious scares." - HYSTERIA LIVES.COM
"Where shopping can cost you an arm and a leg."
Get ready to purchase a cart-load of pure terror at CHOPPING MALL, the 1986 comedy/horror flick that pits a gaggle of over-aged (and over-sexed) teenagers trapped overnight in the Sherman Oaks Galleria against a gang of killer security robots out for blood!
It seemed like a good idea at the time ... four horny teenage couples decide to hide out in their favorite shopping mall, and once the building is locked up for the night and all of the Hickory Farms employees have gone home, the party begins! Drinking, sexing and running amok through Sears in their underwear, the teens are having the wildest party of their lives, until a freak electrical storm turns the mall's security robots into Killbots (which was also the film's original title)! Armed with lasers, bombs, swords and some really nasty pinchers, these evil Johnny 5- wannabes would like nothing more than to take away the kids' right to party ... permanently!
Starring Kelli Maroney (Night of the Comet), Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator) and Tony O'Dell (from the 80s TV show Head of the Class), not to mention cameos from genre greats like Dick Miller (Little Shop of Horrors), Mary Woronov (Death Race 2000) and Gerrit Graham (Phantom of the Paradise), CHOPPING MALL is the best mall-set terror flick since DAWN OF THE DEAD!
