PRESENTED BY BROADWAY IN TUCSON
Thursday, October 9th at 7:00 p.m.
Admission: $5.00

Hop in your Yellow Submarine and head down to The Loft for our first-ever JOHN LENNON BIRTHDAY BASH AND BEATLES SING-A-LONG, a guaranteed good-time featuring subtitled Beatles music clips and videos (although who doesn’t know all the lyrics to The Beatles songbook?), a Fab Four / John and Yoko look-alike contest, and a rare 35 mm print screening of the landmark 1988 theatrical feature documentary IMAGINE: JOHN LENNON!

October 9th marks what would have been the 68th birthday of the late, great singer/songwriter/philosopher/icon, and we’re celebrating Loft-style by highlighting the musical and cinematic legacy of the man, the myth, the legend that is John Lennon.
Shake your mop-top to a collection of insanely catchy Beatles and solo-Lennon music videos, culled from such classic films as A Hard Day’s Night, Yellow Submarine, and Help!, as well material from Lennon’s post-Beatles phase, including videos for such 70s standards as Instant Karma, Watching the Wheels, and of course, Imagine. Don't try to resist singing along ... you'll be helpless in the grasp of some of the greatest pop songs ever written.
Break out your Beatles boots and Nehru jackets (not to mention your granny glasses and Jesus wigs) for our Beatles / John and Yoko costume contest and compete for “fab” prizes as the Best Beatle or Best John/Yoko couple.
Finally, we’ll wrap things up with a 35 mm print screening of the acclaimed 1988 theatrical feature documentary, IMAGINE: JOHN LENNON (Andrew Solt, 1988, 100 mins., rated R), a revealing portrait of the life and times of John Lennon packed with rare Beatles and Lennon performance footage, emotional home movies from Lennon and Yoko Ono’s personal collection, voice-over narration by Lennon himself, and of course, penetrating insight into the many facets of this multi-dimensional icon … the angry youth, the musician, the radical, the husband, the father, the lover, and the idealist.
IMAGINE yourself at The Loft, celebrating the one and only John Lennon … gone, but far from forgotten.
